Normandale Continuing Education offers several training opportunities for entering medical careers. These fields currently do not require a college degree. All programs lead to national certifications that are the industry-recognized standard for professionals in the field. Our programs prepare you for these certifications, and our graduates have high pass rates for the exams.

If you are detail-oriented and looking for a career in a lab or clinic setting, this program is an ideal way to enter the healthcare field. Phlebotomy technicians work in any number of medical settings, including hospitals, doctors’ offices, urgent care centers, diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers, and home health agencies.
A Patient Care Technician performs similar patient care activities as a medical assistant with a slightly broader scope of practice including blood draws, EKG and phlebotomy procedures. Certification program includes externship for practical experience.
